Spatial Data Sciences, Inc. is a software development company with an emphasis on the invention of map display and analysis application software. Since our founding in 1987, we have worked for scores of America's largest companies to create innovative ways of solving difficult problems that are related to mapping and geography. We think we're lucky: most of us always loved maps, and we have found a way to combine our engineering and computer science backgrounds to apply technical and professional experience on the most interesting problems available.

While we have worked with our clients on many custom applications, our main products fall in two categories: The CustomMaps™ Trip Routing software, and our MapStation™ map display and spatial decision support system software.

CustomMaps™ is the trip routing software used by many automobile travel membership programs, including most automobile travel clubs and many vehicle manufacturers in the USA and Canada. CustomMaps provides city-to-city routes and maps all over North America, from the southern border of Mexico to Alaska and all of Canada. CustomMaps Trip Plans can also be ordered on-line through our web site, where more information is provided and sample pages are available for display.

MapStation™ is the premier spatial analysis workstation product for Windows computers using US Government-furnished databases of digital cartography and imagery. There are two versions of MapStation: TIGER MapStation, and NIMA MapStation.

TIGER MapStation uses the geographic data developed by the US Bureau of the Census, coupled with the actual demographic and population data collected during each census (released as PL94-171 data), and voting data from state and national elections, to provide an analysis tool for studying markets, for doing political analysis, and many types of map printing and preparation tasks where the display of multiple data sources is necessary.

NIMA MapStation uses the geographic data provided by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), a part of the US Department of Defense (and formerly called the Defense Mapping Agency - DMA). NIMA MapStation is the only Windows-based software to be compatible with virtually every NIMA geo-data product (RPF, VPF, DTED, and others) and almost every NIMA imaging product (NITF and others). NIMA MapStation provides the planner and analyst with the ability to connect with intelligence data of many types, with complex "Order of Battle" data from a multitude of sources, with GPS data streams from any platform, and many others. The analyst can use elevation data to create perspective views and other types of 3-D scenes of mapping and imagery data overlaid with site data from communications links or central databases.
